This place is like an outdoor market inside of a mall, with not one, but two western stores.  I strolled past enormous Cinderella dresses, a plethora of spandex options, snack shops, cellphone vendors, hoe shoes galore, and a pet shop. Caballo Dorado has the most impressive collection of exotic boots, with more psychedelic options than one could reasonably process. They had yellow snakeskin, purple stingray, all kinds of gator and croc, 7 inch pointy ones, silver tips, you. name. it. I’m saving up for the purple stingrays. Only $379 more dollars to go…

Here are a few exercises that can be very powerful and helpful with increasing energetic frequency and removing influences that do not serve us.

He took me on a guided walk. I thought I was lost, but ended up at his coffee shop. I sat next to him and the memorial chair they had lovingly set out with his coffee, paper and cigar. And then he took me to the Before I Die wall. We used to talk about that, and he said something like, Before I Die I want to be free of wants. I had just sent him an article about it. I walked for about 20 blocks through the streets. We went to the river and I howled and sobbed. The Natchez pulled up and the brass band was playing Hark the Herald Angels sing. Hundreds of birds filled the sky. A trumpet sounded out I Left My Heart In SF.

He led me to a healer in a crystal shop. Here is her info and prayer:

God, Spirit, Source – open my awareness to the light of your spirit that is in this moment filling me, surrounding me, and emanating from me.  I ask that I allow this light to guide my every thought, word, action, and breath so that I may be of service for the highest good of all.  I ask that any thought, belief, habit, contract from this lifetime or any lifetime that is not in accordance with the highest be revealed, realigned, or released as quickly efficiently, easily and gracefully as possible.  I ask that if there is any thing in the outer realm, manifest and unmanifest that needs to be revealed, realigned, or released for the highest good of all that this be done with ease.  May I, my loved ones, and all beings everywhere, be freed by this prayer.

While driving home after the service, I received a picture from my best friend. She was in Hawaii on a spiritual healing. It came through @ 11:11 New Orleans time. When I told her that, she said whenever she saw 11:11, it would remind her of me and how Dad always said, “11:11-kiss time!~” She asked me if I wanted something from Hawaii. I asked for a rock.  I’m a rock collector and especially like heart-shaped ones. I find hearts in everything, heart rocks, leaves, gum on the ground. She found some and put them in her pocket. Later, they came together in formation.

Keeping it love or above~

The preacher at his service said that we are all better people for knowing him, and this is true.

He told me we must feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick and visit those in prison. It seemed biblical and grand, but he was able to fulfill these callings in subtle ways on a regular basis. He shared freely, helped the hurt, broken folks and even performed at Angola more than once. He was able to slow down and truly connect and share deeply with people in a respectful way. He reminded me of the power of my words and thoughts, as they are seeds.

I hope we can all share his grace medicine, with love in our hearts.

Coco en France

My father was a country boy at heart. Curtis loved rocking on the porch telling tales, and there wasn’t an animal or child that wouldn’t want to sit right by him, or a grandma he didn’t charm~he was genuine Southern gentleman. His artistic talent was truly astounding: writing, singing, storytelling, performing, carving, sculpting, drawing, painting, jewelry, stained glass, you name it, he could master it. The bust of Fess was his first sculpture. He found silver, gold and magical reformed treasures in the Mississippi mud and fashioned them into belts and jewelry.

He did not quest for fortune and fame. He loved people. Coco was quietly powerful, generous of spirit, and he touched the soul of every person who experienced his music or listened to his stories.

Beyond the stage, he was happiest sitting outside, drinking coffee, reading the paper while doing the crossword in pen, puffing his cigar.

I love him dearly, but know that he is with me and always will be.

The outpouring of love and support is heartwarming, and has been comforting.

We have created a Memorial Love Board for my father on Spiritland as a place to tell stories, share pictures and videos, and especially to add some humor, because anyone that knew Curtis knew that he was funny.
